Ramadan month is one of the holiest months for Muslims. Falls on the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar, the sighting of the crescent moon marks the beginning of Ramadan. Muslims fast during this holy month and offer more prayers than usual. This is a time of self-evaluation and self-reflection. Muslim seek for forgiveness and rejuvenate relationships with their family and friends during this time of giving.
At Concorde Hotel Shah Alam, we fully understand how much it takes to practice the teaching and intention of this auspicious month physically and spiritually. Therefore, our kitchen brigade at Melting Pot Café is busy whipping up an enthralling feast of the Bazzar Semenajung dishes for this Ramadan month. Every state has their own food specialty from the Northern, Southern, Central Region to the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Combined with all the favorite chefs’ recipes have resulted in a symphony of flavours making Concorde Hotel Shah Alam proud to serve our Bazaar Ramadan for 2015.
This Ramadan month, join us to ‘buka puasa’ with vast selection cuisines from the 11 states of Peninsular Malaysia as well as international favorites. Break fast with assorted sweet dates available at the Dessert Bar to restore your body’s fuel needs. A variety of appetizers such as Kerabu Ayam Pantai Timur, Kerabu Sotong Sohoon Utara, Kerabu Kacang Panjang, Bergedil Daging, Ikan Sepat Masin, Ulam – ulam Kampung and Aneka Keropok are at the Appetizer section. If you fancy carving specials, visit our Carving Corner and try our Marinated BBQ Honey Chicken Roasted and Special Paste Marinated Garlic Roasted Whole Lamb. These carving delights are served with varieties of sauce.
For mains, our signature dishes are Nasi Jagung Bergajus, Ayam Kari Utara Ubi Kentang Berkerisik, Rendang Daging Masak Hitam Kayu Manis, Kari Kepala Ikan Jenahak Tomato Bendi, Paru Rangup Goreng Cili Berlada, Fish Fillet with Lemon Garlic, Lam Heong Roasted Chicken, Teow Chew Sea Prawn and Sayur Goreng Oyster, all are equally delicious.
A few other dishes from the states specialties are served at the counter like Slow Roasted Brown Pee Paa Duck, Assorted Dim Sum, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Lok-lok Yong Tau Foo and Mee Kari. Aneka Jeruk Tempatan, Lemamg, Ketupat Daun Palas, Kuah Kacang, Serunding Awaym, Serunding Daging and Aneka Jeruk Buah – Buahan are some of the popular Malay appetizers amongst all.
The buffet also offers all-time favourite soups. Whet your appetite with Bubur Lambuk Ayam Dara, Bubur Lambuk Daging Batang Pinang, Sup Kambing Berempah, Sup Ayam Berserai, Sup Daging Purba, Sup Gearbox before you indulge in other local delicacies. To please your palate, the menu changes daily. Titillate your taste buds with Nasi Beriyani Kismis Emas, Ayam Pangang Percik Kuah Kacang, Daging Gulai Kawah Hirisan Ubi Kentang, Sotong Masak Lemak Cili Api Belimbing Buloh, Ikan Keli Goreng Berlada Hijau, Lala Masak Cili Bawang Putih, Ikan Patin Gulai Tempoyak, Tumisan Udang Har Lok, and many other are absolutely irresistible!
If you think the mains are too much to handle, tuck into a hawker fare such as Tauhu Bakar, Murtabak ayam, Roti Jala Sekaya, Sotong Kangkung, Ikan Bakar Tiga Rasa and Ayam Tandoori. All these and more! The ‘buka puasa’ buffet has mouth-watering array of desserts, fruits and selections of ice cream. Wash it all down with French Patries, Raspberry Chocolate Cake, Mango Crème Caramel, Milo Panna Cotta, Sweet Corn Pudding, Chilled Lee Chee Kang, Apple Crumble, Ice Kacang, Cendol and many more! These desserts or ‘kueh’ are simply flavoursome and definitely not-to-be-missed!
Breaking fast at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam is so convenient. Our Surau and Imam for jamaah Isya’ and Terawih prayers at level 3 allows our Muslim guests to break fast at ease without having to go far.
Priced at RM118.00nett per adult and RM59.00nett per child, the ‘Bazaar Semenanjung” Ramadan Buffet is available at Melting Pot Café (Lobby Level), Grand Ballroom and Grand Patio (Level 2) of Concorde Hotel Shah Alam.
